FOR CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The 2023-2024 New Application for High School Students. This application is for high school seniors. The deadline is 12 noon, May 1st, 2023. It is suggested that applicants begin the application as soon as they have received their financial aid package from the college of their choice so that recommender(s) have ample time to submit their information. As soon as an applicant enters a recommender’s information in the application and saves the application, an email is sent directly to the recommender with a link to a personalized recommendation form for the student. Recommender materials are due by May 4th.
There is also an Early Response Option for high school students who are able to apply by April 3rd, 2023. They will receive a decision by April 28th. Please click here for more information.
FOR CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENTS (new applicants)
The 2023-2024 New Application for College Students. This application is for new applicants who have completed at least one semester of college and have never received an award from the Phillips Scholarship. The deadline is 12 noon, May 1st, 2023. It is suggested that applicants begin the application as soon as possible so that recommender(s) have time to submit their information. As soon as an applicant enters a recommender’s information in the application and saves the application, an email is sent directly to the recommender with a link to a personalized recommendation form for the student. All recommendation materials must be submitted by May 4th, 2023.
FOR RENEWAL STUDENTS
The 2023-2024 Renewal Application. This application is for college students who are currently receiving or have received an award from the Phillips Scholarship. The deadline is 12 noon, February 1st, 2023. Please email the office if you are unsure about whether or not to use this application. Each applicant will be notified, once their application is complete, about their award for 2023-2024. Official notifications and the acceptance agreement to sign will be sent by late June.
Recommendation Forms for High School applicants
School Counselor Form. School counselors will receive an email recommendation request from each applicant. Included in the email is a link that will bring the counselor directly to a page where they can click on each student’s personalized High School – School Counselor Form. The form can be completed and submitted, along with appropriate, uploaded items:
- High school transcript, including senior grades
- Letter of recommendation written for college admission
- High school profile, if available
These should be completed and uploaded by May 4th, 2023. (Due April 5th if student is applying using the Early Response option.)
Optional General Recommender Form. The adult requested to fill out this general recommendation form will receive an email recommendation request from the applicant. The link included in the email will direct the recommender to the personalized Recommender Form. The form can be completed and submitted, and/or a letter of recommendation can be copied and pasted into the form. All recommendation forms are due by May 4th, 2023. (Due April 5th if student is applying using the Early Response option.)
Recommendation Forms for College applicants
College Recommendation Form. College recommenders (professors, teaching assistants, academic advisors, club advisors, coaches, religious leaders, community service advisors, etch) should receive an email recommendation request from each applicant. The link will direct the college recommender to the personalized College Recommendation Form. The form can be completed and submitted, along with an optional letter of recommendation to be uploaded. More than one form is optional. All recommendation forms are due by May 4th, 2023.
School counselors, professors and all recommenders who are having difficulty receiving the email recommendation request from an applicant, please call our office at 978-744-2111 or email us at staff@spscholars.org. We can supply a direct link to the applicant’s appropriate recommendation form.
