Free Application for Federal Student Aid
Explore financial aid resources and tips.
After you fill out your FAFSA application, you will receive your Student Aid Report (SAR). The response time and method vary depending whether you file online or by mail. We recommend filing online, as it is the quickest and most efficient way of applying.

The Federal Student Aid ID

All students applying for federal aid are encouraged to create and use a FSA ID, made up of a username and password. For more information about FSA IDs, go to StudentAid.gov/fsaid-id.
Information from the Student Aid Report (SAR), usually a 9 or 10 page report, that is required for the Phillips Scholarship is as follows:
  • Processing Results – which includes your EFC (Expected Family Contribution)
  • FAFSA Data – summarizing the information you submitted in your FAFSA application
  • School Information – includes college info
  • Financial Aid History – this is for college students only and summarizes all Federal Loans to date, this info will be blank for high school applicants
