Ishan Johnson

Originally from Long Island, New York Ishan Johnson graduated from Boston University in 2006 with a degree in Vocal Performance. After performing as a professional opera singer for over a decade, Ishan transitioned to a career in Philanthropy. Among other impactful roles, he oversaw the first endowment campaign for Chicago Opera Theater and served as Associate Director of Philanthropy for the Art Institute of Chicago. Ishan recently moved back to Boston to serve as Deputy Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Boston Lyric Opera, which strives to connect communities through compelling performances and programs. Ishan was an inaugural mentor with the Opera Leaders of Color Mentorship Program run by Opera America, and began his service on the Boston University Alumni Council this summer.
